What the I-693 immigration medical exam includes
The Form I-693 exam is required by USCIS for most green card applicants. It must be performed by a physician the government has specifically designated — a civil surgeon. For Illinois applicants, Dr. Padda performs the complete exam in one visit and seals the results in the USCIS envelope you carry to your interview.

Why a designated civil surgeon matters

N-648 disability waiver, if the citizenship test is a barrier
Some applicants cannot complete the English and civics test because of a medical or mental-health condition. The N-648 Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions is a separate evaluation that can waive that requirement when the criteria are met. Dr. Padda performs N-648 evaluations in-house and, when helpful, in the applicant’s own language.

What should I bring to my immigration medical exam?

Will you open or let me open the sealed I-693 envelope?
